Meet the Kindergarten Team

Stephanie Barber

I am a National Board Certified Teacher. I teach kindergarten and this is my 19^th year. I have a Masters in Early Childhood Education. I am currently working on another Masters through Winthrop in administration. I like to shop and do puzzle books in my leisure time.

Chanel Burton

This is my second year at Great Falls Elementary, but it is my first year teaching 5 year old kindergarten. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, shopping, and spending time with my family.

Judith Province

I received my Associate of Arts Degree from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a specialization in Early Childhood from West Virginia University as well as my Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education. I received my National Board Certification as an Early Childhood Generalist. In 1998, I was a National Winner of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching in the area of Elementary Mathematics. I am married, and I am the mother of two grown children. I am also "Grandma Sugar" to three granddaughters.

Sandy Black

I am Mrs. Sandy Black. I was born August 26, 1958. I am the mother of two daughters and grandmother of three grandsons and one grandaughter. I like sewing, baking and spending time with my grandkids.

Tonya Smarr

This is my 7th year as a kindergarten assistant at GFE. I am a graduate of Winthrop University where I majored in Business Administration. I am married to Brooks, and have two children; Emilee, 13, and Evan, 19 months. I also have two dogs, Bella and Hootie. I love to read and scrapbook in my "spare" time.

Maxine Tate

I have three grown children and two granddaughters. I enjoy spending time with my family and riding motorcycles with my husband. I am currently serving as the PTO treasurer.
